Last weekend, Sweet Pea and I traveled up to Grand Rapids to see Caroll and to have lunch with her. The Scrappy Quilt Bee was meeting, and I had been wanting to get in on this bee for a while. So, we brought Sweet Pea's machine with us, and she did some sewing. I just helped.
Caroll caught some photos that I did not get. She blogged the day very nicely. If you'd like to read more about it, go check out her post. You can see Sweet Pea's machine and what we worked on. Love these scrappy blocks with a fussy-cut center. It's all paper pieced, and she was completely independent at it by the last round and a half of logs!
It was a very memorable day. Sweet Pea is still talking about it.
Thanks, Caroll, for a wonderful day! And Buffie, too, for setting up the bee!
Until next time,
I'm glad to see Sweet Pea is getting in on quilting. You'll have a lifelong partner in crime!

My own little sweet pea started young and at 12 sells quilts and enters shows. What fun to share a love in my life with a love of my life.

It was so nice seeing you two. Thanks for driving up and spending the day with me. Sweet Pea is darling and you are so lucky that she likes to sew. Wish my daughter did, but she's just not into it. I had a great day with you guys and hope we can do it again soon.

I forgot to ask how Sweet Pea (and you) like her Hello Kitty sewing machine?

I think Sweet Pea should have her own fan club! :) She did a fantastic job...I can't even paper piece. Maybe you could send her to VA to teach me how. :)
Just catching up on your blog...a week late.

Instant smile when I popped on to your blog and saw this cutie! She is growing up, Ms. Stephanie. I can imagine how you felt as I recall my Thursday night watching Noah play soccer in a pickup game with college boys. I was a little emo and tonight I am a little emo thinking that I do not have a little Sweet Pea to pass on my quilting love..Cute post!!!!

This is the sweetest post ever! I'm so happy that you and Sweet Pea can spend time together and bond over a common creative interest! I know that you both will look back on this in a couple of years and smile! :)
