Remember a while back I mentioned that I joined Sweetwater's "Label Crew" because I had grown so infatuated with their labels and projects? You might remember the valentines I made for the January project, based on their pattern and kit.
Well, here was the February project:
Stuff, Junk, and Things ditty bags. My "Label Crew" kit came with the pattern and the labels. I went online and bought the kit to go with it, which consisted of the canvas, buttons, and lining fabrics.
Here are the linings. More Reunion fabric, which you KNOW I adore. I loved it that the buttons were already fabric covered when they arrived. That made this project quick and easy.
The bags are in three sizes. The smallest one finishes at about 4.5" by 5.5".
The medium one (left) finished at about 5.5" by 5.5" and the large (right) at 6.5" by 5.5".
Love them! Absolutely love them! I'm going to make another set. I think I'll keep some and gift some others.
Again, the fabric kits are generous. I had enough canvas left over to make another bag, I think, and there's enough lining fabric to do the same. I would just have to supply my own button. I could make some labels of my own, or do some machine embroidery where the label would go. That would be fun!
This was another very simple and easy peasy pattern with a very nice, professional finish. I'm trying to decide if I like the black thread I used for the topstitching. High contrast = not very forgiving! LOL. I think I made all three bags in less than 2 hours. Totally a fun project and a little gift I think a lot of people would enjoy.
I am thinking about making some more of these with the leftover canvas from my Gear Up Tote. I have enough fabric left to line some bags, too, I think. Cool! I was thinking about making my own labels that say things like iPad, iPhone, Camera, etc. Then, I could use the little bags to put my charging cords in when I travel. They are always such a mess. That could be really neat. I'll keep you posted on that one!
Anyway, I highly recommend this pattern, too. You can get the pattern, labels, and fabric kits (oops, I'm not finding any right now...they may be sold out) at Sweetwater's etsy shop.
If you want information on the Label Crew, you can get it here.
If you haven't entered my giveaway for a free Gear Up Tote Bag pattern, go visit my post about that pattern review and leave a comment there to get in on that action. Comments left here will NOT get you entered into that giveaway (though I would still love to hear your comments!).
Hope you enjoyed these. See you tomorrow! I'm enjoying my break....getting some sewing done, some schoolwork done, and some personal stuff done. Off to get a much needed hair cut and color right now!
Until next time,
Mama Pea
You are getting so much sewing done this week! Love these little bags too :) They would be perfect for traveling.
Don't you just feel better after getting you hair done!
Hugs,
Donna
