I've crossed off seven--count 'em, seven--things on my to-do list at work already today. I can't do the last one until I get a reply to an email I sent. So, I'm taking a break and getting in a blog post. :-)
Playing catch up a little....Back in May, I went to Minnesota for a conference. After the conference, we went to my BIL's house to stay for a few days. I told my SIL I really wanted to go visit Rosebud's Cottage in White Bear Lake, MN. I follow Roseann on Facebook and got to know her a bit at Spring Market last year. I really wanted to see her shop. My SIL said she was totally up for it. I also emailed Brooke to see if she could meet us there. She was up for it. I was hoping Doreen could come so I could meet her, but that didn't work out. Next time...right, Doreen?!
So, we took my car and headed off. Papa Pea and Sweet Pea took BIL's Miata and went to visit some other Minnesota friends.
This is the front of Rosann's shop. There are about three rooms like this. There is so much eye candy everywhere you turn, I had to go through it about 5 times just to absorb it all. I'll show you a bunch of photos....
Oh, and you know how I love to show you bathroom photos!
By the way, upstairs from Roseann's shop is a party center, also owned by the building owner. He holds wedding receptions, etc. up there. It is also stunningly beautiful, with all kinds of beautiful wood details. Just wonderful.
So, after I spent a bunch of money, Roseann says, "You guys want to see where all the action really is? Come on and see my office/studio." So, we took a field trip. We walked in the little "alley way" between Roseann's shop and the next shop. Look at the adorable gardens the building owner put in.
Here's a little doll bed with some adroable little quilts. And there's the Snow Bird block Roseann designed for Aurifil. I made this block last year and blogged it here. I told Roseann it was my favorite block af that whole series! I love it.
Our trip to Roseann's shop was so awesome! Thank you, Roseann, for the personal tour and attention. It was SOOO wonderful to meet you. I will be back to your shop. You can count on it! You are just the best.
If you are ever in or near White Bear Lake, I would highly recommend this shop. It is so cute and fun, with a little bit of everything. There is some fun and funky fabrics, modern, wool, traditional, needlework, scrapbooking, and just lots of fun little things. Roseann and her staff are a total delight. The building is beautiful (I think Papa Pea would have even had fun just poking around the building), and the town is incredibly quaint. There are yummy places to eat, too.
I also found a yarn shop in town, and there is another quilt store in town, too. I can tell you more about that shop and another shop Joyce and I went to later. I will share that in another post.
I had a great time! Thanks to Joyce, Brooke, and Heidi for coming out to play. (Doreen--we will catch you next time!) And Roseann, you outdid yourself. Thank you!
Okay...back to marking stuff off my list!
Until next time,
