Just a quick post, because I have to run, but I know you want a sneak peek! Right?! Yesterday, I received a notice that I had a package that needed to be signed for. I wasn't home when it arrived. So, I went to the post office to get it this morning, and as anticipated, it was my quilt from Shelly (Prairie Moon Quilts). Lincoln's Watch! I thought you might like some sneak peeks! I will show you the whole thing when I get it bound this weekend.
Remember how there are alternating blocks? (If not, read my previous post about the quilt.) Shelly quilted them in alternating fashion. Here's one....
And here's the other. Wow, Shelly! This is amazing, and I LOVE IT!
And, as I requested, she did feathers in the borders. Aren't they gorgeous???!!! I love the stripes she quilted in around the feathers. They really compliment the feathers nicely!
And look how the feathers come together in the center of the border! OMG. I just love that!
Shelly, you outdid yourself! Seriously! Amazing! I am just giddy! I don't know if I can wait to get the binding on this! I have Friday Night Sew In this week. I can't decide if I'll work on this binding or something else and save the binding for Saturday. Hmmm.....
When I bought the kit for this fabric, they had two kits, each with different red border fabric. Jill and I both really loved the other red border. (Remember, she's making one, too. Jill, are you out there? How's yours coming??? I want to see it!) She loved it so much, I let her take it, and I took the kit with the less preferred red fabric in the border. Even when I sewed the borders on, I was thinking, "Yeah, that border fabric is okay...not sure I totally love it." However, now that Shelly has quilted the borders, I am in love with them! She worked magic on them! The more plain fabric lent itself to the gorgeous quilting you did, Shelly. Can you tell I'm just giddy over the quilting? Get over here, Shelly. I just want to hug you!
Okay, more later when I have the binding on. I'll give you the bit reveal then! Yippie Skippie!
And wait until you see the backing fabric I picked for this quilt. I really love it!
Oh, she sent me a goodie, too. But you'll have to wait for Really Kinda Random (I hope to have a random post for you tomorrow!) to see it. I didn't grab a photo of it yet.
It's back to work now for a few hours!
Until next time,

It's gorgeous! Those are some great fabrics and your piecing is wonderful!
I love the quilting that Shelly did on this!
