A while back, I made a road trip up to Grand Rapids to see Caroll. While I was there, I signed up for another BOM. Why?! I'm already so far behind on everything! Sheesh! Well, it's because I just loved the Civil War inspired fabrics, and they are little 5.5" blocks that are reminiscent of the Farmer's Wife blocks that I want to get going on. So, I signed up.
Well, I'm already behind. I think I just got month 3's or 4's blocks, and I've only finished month 1. So, I'm already two or three months behind. Sigh. Oh well.
I think I used the wrong fabric for this bock, given the photo on the pattern. But I couldn't find any fabric in my kit that resembled the fabric in that photo. I later realized that perhaps it was a red fabric, not brown. Maybe the photo is just off. Oh well. Hopefully it will all work out fine in the end.
One thing I like about this BOM is that each month, the pattern also comes with a mini quilt design that you can make from some of the blocks and the fabrics. I like this mini so much, I really want to get some more of this fabric to make it. I just love that stripe.
This BOM is by Bonnie Blue Quilts, which is the same person who designed the Lincoln's Watch quilt I'm working on. I didn't realize that at the time when I signed up for this. It has shown me that I must really like this designer's design style. She does a lot with Civil War fabrics and traditional blocks. Good to know!
I'll keep you posted on my progress. It's going to be slow.
I haven't made as much progress on my UFOs as I would have liked this year. But I have done a good job of starting even more new projects. Haha.
Have a wonderful day and a great weekend!
Until next time,
